Home Sweet Home

Welcome to our home! It is a work in progress so be kind and patient to see it transformed....

My husband and I bought our home in the outskirts of Fredericksburg almost three years ago. The house was basic builder grade with absolutely no upgrades. We fell in love with the land (6.14 acres) and location (next to Jackson's Flank March in Historic Civil War area).  We are surrounded with privacy and a long driveway off the road. We put in the paved driveway as our first item since it was gravel and I just cannot have gravel with heels (I wear heels everywhere!). We also loved that it was a cape cod style home which are hard to find in this area.

However, since the home was older and had not been upgraded at all, we have our work cut out for us. It had been vacant awhile before we purchased so the trees were overgrown and landscaping was a mess. The home needs updating and style.  And the layout in a cape cod is not typically open floor plan and is lacking space especially on the 2nd level. To be honest it is all laid out wrong!

We love our home and plan to be here forever. So this is my journey to take this outdated, lack of style home to something fabulous like I see daily as I tour homes as a Realtor.

We have a long way to go to get this house presentable... :)
